David Miksha
David Miksha is founder of Access Law. He graduated from the University of Calgary Haskayne School of Business with a Bachelor of Commerce and obtained his law degree at the University of Southampton, United Kingdom.
David Miksha’s approach to the law is to ensure that his clients understand what is happening to them, understand the limits of what the law can do, and are then able to chart a course consistent with their own values. His practice includes litigation on all private law matters, particularly in Family Law, Employment Law, and contract disputes.
His approach is recognized by his clients:
“[We] both wish we would have had you representing us all this time… Thank you for all you have done to expedite this file…”
“Thank you for fighting for me!”
“You’ve done a really good job of explaining things to me.”
“You were a wonderful lawyer.”
David Miksha has lived, worked, and studied across three continents, but has always called Calgary ‘home’.
He is a proud Treaty 7 Canadian and devoted father. He enjoys the mountains, history, and philosophy; ‘how to live’ is a question that follows him across his professional and personal lives.
Prior to law, David Miksha has worked in business operations, non-profit, and insolvency. Before starting Access Law, he worked at boutique family law litigation firms and a full-service litigation firm, leading to the reported decisions Bujak v Bujak, 2020 ABQB 256, DKC v BKC, 2020 ABQB 541, and Nurmi v Nurmi, 2023 ABCA 123.
